Designed for retail environments, the RTD-20 allows indoor units to be grouped by zone. This means that the operation of offices can be set differently from the shop floor, for example. Energy efficiency is improved further by the ability to integrate ventilation units, overdoor air curtains and indoor units and pre- and post-trade modes.
The RTD-20 offers zone by zone control of climate control and other building services, to maximize efficiency, reducing energy consumption and carbon emissions, while maintaining excellent levels of comfort.
Whilst all operation modes supported by the RTD-20 are designed to serve retail environments, some of the modes do support stand-alone operation, i.e. these operation modes do not require a retail environment.
Operation Modes
- Retail Primary Shop Floor Zone
- This is the primary control zone. Additional Retail Zones can be networked to the Primary Zone and will receive control signals from the Primary Zone.
- Supports PIR signals.
- Allows for BMS control strategy to set Trading and Occupied times.
- Low Temperature Protection for Unoccupied times.
- Intelligent Demand Prediction (IDP) to minimise unnecessary heating and cooling operation increases energy efficiency.

- Secondary Shop Floor Zone
- A Secondary Shop Floor Zone provides control of additional Shop Floor zones. The Primary Zone determines the overall operating conditions of the shop, the secondary zone can be configured to operate with local control of the secondary zone during trading conditions, or to slave its control from the Primary Zone.
- Supports PIR signals.
- Allows local control of the setpoint from the remote controller.
- Intelligent Demand Prediction (IDP) to minimise unnecessary heating and cooling operation increases energy efficiency.
- Allows local Occupied operation outside of the Zone Primary Occupancy time.

- Seconday User Control Zone
- Allows users to alter unit operation during the occupied period: The unit can be switched on and off by the user, and Auto (default) and Fan modes can be selected. The user can change setpoint, louvre, and fanspeed.
- Supports PIR signals.

- VAM Control
- Allows VAM units to be operated either stand-alone or as part of a retail control group.
- Supports PIR and CO2 sensor signals.
- Allows control of the damper.
- Supports stand-alone operation.
- Simultaneous control with remote controller, inputs S1-S6 and Modbus.
- for further information see section 'Modbus' in the article How to install the RTD-20.

- Air-Curtain Control
- Air-Curtain control allows CYQ* & CYV* Air-Curtains to be manually or automatically controlled. Control can be stand-alone or coordinated by a Primary Retail Zone.
- Dependent on selected operation mode the unit can be switched On/Off, with the remote controller. Fanspeed and/or Setpoint may be unlocked too.
- Supports inside and outside air temperature sensors.
- Supports stand-alone operation.
- Simultaneous control with remote controller, inputs S1-S6 and Modbus.
- for further information see section 'Modbus' in the article How to install the RTD-20.

- Partitioned room control
- Operates in configurations where there are movable partitions that can separate adjacent rooms. When a partition is closed, the remote controller associated with the partition will be unlocked. When a partition is open, the remote controller becomes locked and the room control is slaved to the next room.
- Supports stand-alone operation.
- Simultaneous control with remote controller and Modbus (like RTD-NET).

- ERQ mode (for controlling Air Handling units)
- The RTD-20 ERQ mode gives a linear 0-10VDC heating and cooling capacity control of the ERQ condensers for air handling units.
- Supports stand-alone operation.
- Simultaneous control with remote controller, inputs S1-S6 and Modbus.
