RTD: Compatibility of wired remote controllers to our interfaces
BRC1E51 or older variants: No compatibility issues.
Newer variants such as BRC1E52A7:
May have different functionality from previous BRC models. The BRC1E52A7 does not support the AUTO function in the same manner as previous versions. This leads to unwanted interactions when RTD and BRC controller are both used for manual control. If only certain modes are required then this is no problem, but does not allow access to all possible functions.
Issues that may arise when a RTD interfaces is configured to SUB mode:
Activation of Auto-mode or read Auto-mode status not possible with Modbus
When changing the unit mode to Auto via the remote controller this information cannot be read through Modbus
For compatibility with RTD interfaces the BRC1E52A7 must be switched to SUB mode in the BRC Service Settings Menu. In SUB mode operation the AUTO mode will be available and the Min/Max setpoints will be removed.
If this doesn't work:
There is a compatibility mode in the BRC1E52 that is activated if the BRC is attached in MAIN mode to a VRV system with a centralised controller (e.g. ITC or ITM). This re-activates the standard AUTO function. It is possible to configure a BRC for this mode by temporarily attaching it to a network with an ITC / ITM attached.
Attach BRC in MAIN mode to network with ITC / ITM attached
Wait for BRC to go active, then switch BRC to SUB mode.
Remove from network and attached as SUB device to network with RTD.
Simplest solution would be to replace the controller with an older variant such as BRC1E51.
