We offer several solutions to control Toshiba indoor units* and AHUs (Air Handling units) by on-site BMS systems.
*Our interfaces do not communicate with outdoor units.
FDP3-Modbus
The FDP3-Modbus allows control and monitoring of indoor units only via Modbus over RS485.
For further details please see:
FDP3-BMS
The FDP3-BMS interface allows control using hardwired inputs (resistance or Voltage) and Modbus, as well as monitoring via two relays (Volt-free contacts) and Modbus. Furthermore, additional operation modes are supported by the FDP3-BMS interface.
The operation modes are:
- Standard Operation mode (Voltage or Resistance):
- In this mode the FDP3-BMS can be used to control indoor units with Voltage or electric resistances at the hardwired inputs S1 - S6.
- Same Modbus functionality as the FDP3-Modbus interface.
- Controlled parameters are: Setpoint, Fanspeed, Mode, Louvre, On/Off, Remote controller Locking.
- Relays: Relay R1 signals RUN, Relay R2 signals FAULT.
- Simultaneous control with Modbus, remote controller and hardwired inputs (use of any of these controls is optional).
- Note that controlling is done 'externally' with your BMS system (Modbus and/or hardwired inputs). How the external control is implemented does not affect the FDP3-BMS operation, as long as the input values are correct.
- Therefore, the Standard Operation mode is also suitable for custom algorithms implemented on your BMS system.
- FDP3 GROUP CONTROL:
- In this operation mode a network of FDP3-BMS interfaces is set up such that the settings (louvre, mode, setpoint fanspeed, ON/Off) of the Master FDP3-BMS interface are written to the Slave FDP3-BMS interface(s).
- The FDP3 Group Control network may consist of 2 to 16 FDP3-BMS interfaces. Note that Modbus control is not possible in this operation mode.
- Preset Operating modes:
- The FDP3-BMS interfaces and correspinding wired remote controllers can be locked to specific operation settings. In this operation mode hardwired inputs and Modbus cannot be used.
- Duty/Standby mode:
- Two FDP3-BMS interfaces can be networked together such that all indoor units wired to one of these remain in standby for a set period while the indoor units wired to the second FDP3-BMS are running. The two FDP3-BMS interfaces alternate the standby state as set by the installer.
- Rotation periods can be: 60 minutes, 6 hours, 1 day, 2 days, 1 week, 2 weeks.
- Note that Modbus control is not possible in this operation mode.
